sundays.

revenge of the roaches.
got out of the elevator and on to the basement parking lot to see a huge swarm of gamu-gamo flying beneath a particular fluorescent lamp... ran to the car as fast as we could...

then.

got home last night and was greeted by the most unsightly bunch of ipis ever...spent around ten to fifteen minutes jumping around, stomping, spraying insecticide and screaming my lungs out trying to kill the roaches... nakakapagod.

what a way to end the day.

da vinci decoded.

it wasn't bad. in fact it was pretty good. i didn't read the book so i had no presumptions nor expectations that would influence my judgement of this film.
from the protagonist's point of vies, everything was taken as theory which were supported by theories

it did not claim to be "truth".
in fact, robert langdon kept stressing that "the mind sees what it chooses to see" (or something close to that line)... meaning faith and religion leaves much room for interpretation.

i do not find it as offensive to certain religious sects (such as the opus dei) because the movie does not really stereotype them as such... it just so happens that there are people who will stop at nothing to fight for their cause. it doesn't matter what they believe.

the church may call it "trying times" (i think not) but banning it because it raises questions about a dominant faith/religion is just absurd. at least sm cinemas are standing by their decision to not show R-18 films, whether foreign or local. but banning its screening in the city of manila... man. why? to get on malacanang's good side? whatever.

at the end of the day, the da vinci code is only a work of fiction. and it will always be.
