summer movie mania.

movies to watch out for:

- the da vinci code -- adaptation of the contoversial dan brown novel. coming to theaters may 19, 2006. if you haven't heard of this one, then where have you been hiding?

- xmen3: the last stand -- adaptation of the marvel comics. if you stil haven't heard of this one. where have you been all this time? coming to theaters this may 26... this sequel stars more mutant characters...angel, jubilee, beast, phoenix... but still no gambit.

- united93 -- what really happened in one of the three planes that crashed during 9/11. i've read articles from reader's digest about this flight. a lot of unsung heroes in this one.

- scary movie4 -- spoofs of movies and hollywood, in general..

- cars -- supposedly the last collaboration between disney and pixar. saw the trailer of this animated pic during the screening of the incredibles. like 2 years ago? june 9

- superman returns -- christopher reeve is that you? stars a virtually unknown brandon routh who happens to be the spitting image of the original superman.

- poseidon -- another disaster movie. they're in a boat, okay cruise ship; it starts to sink. they have to survive. i only remember emmy rossum (day after towmorrow, phantom of the opera) as part of the cast. ah. and josh lucas (dude from sweet home alabama, who kinda looks like matthew mcconaughey)

- the devil wears prada -- stars meryl streep and anne hathaway...based on a bestselling novel. with this movie, two things are certain: fabulous acting (courtesy of meryl streep) and fabulouse costumes...june 30

- the omen -- mga anti-christ stuff. parang creepy. but i probably won't watch this one. opens june 6

- the lake house -- stars sandra bullock, keanu reeves, christopher plummer. interesting. 2 people exchange love letters. interesting thing: they're living in the same apartment...but during different time span. june 16.

- click -- ever wish there was a remote control that could turn other people's voices down or slo-mo a particular moment...well adam sandler was looking for a "universal" remote control when his old one broke down (or got lost) and boy did he get one that could control his life. also stars kate beckinsale, christopher plummer, david hasselhoff and sean astin (sam from lord of the rings).. opens june 23.

- pirates of the caribbean: dead man's chest -- sequel to pirates of the carribean: curse of the black pearl. need i say more... also stars bill nighy (from love actually) as davey jones.

also coming out...

- the breakup -- here's where jen (aniston) meets vince vaughn post brad pitt. i've a feeling this is lame.

- the fast and the furious:tokyo drift -- uh. didn't like part one. didn't like part two either. then i reckon. i won't like this part either.

- garfield: a tale of two kitties -- the cartoon garfield is waaay cuter than the 3d one. part one was lame. i'm surprised they're coming out with a sequel..

recent movies...

- mission impossible 3 -- first of all. the lamest thing ever. what does IMF stand for? international monetary fund, right? but according to tom cruise (barf here) and the creators of this movie, it stands for "impossible mission force" ... (barf here some more)... my sister's favorite line from the movie: Brassels to Musgrove: "Please don't interrupt when I'm asking rhetorical questions!" it's two hours worth of tom cruise. too bad i don't like tom cruise.

- the sentinel-- aww.. i missed this one. apparently it opened some time ago...kala ko like coming soon pa sha... anyway. it stars. michael douglas (no, he's not the president in this movie), kiefer sutherland (there's that chance that he is the bad guy in this movie), eva longoria (in a role so unlike that of her role in desperate housewives)
