high school's the bitch

it's not about how certain people treat you like crap in high school. it's about high school itself. look at yourself right now. you think you've changed since then? maybe, maybe not.
i thought i've changed dramatically. cynicism, bitterness and a whole lot of different emotions took over me right after high school. then i thought i've let it go. till i had lunch with a high school friend that i consider a true friend- she's not afraid to tell me what's wrong with me and my perception in life. it made me think. a lot. i guess i haven't changed at all that much.

so why all this?

there's a second high school class reunion that i've religiously avoided (the first coincided with kim's bday party at world topps). i don't feel the need to see them.

high school culture is complicated. a lot of it is dictated by a lot of shallow and insecure beings that feed on other people's weaknesses and fears. a lot of times, cliques form but true friendship doesn't. after high school, you jsut move on and forget about them. it's not real. it's just about finding people you have things in common with to hang out with but other than that, nothing.

but that's just high school. people don't have enough maturity to realize that they're doing something totally wrong. so let's let it all go.

but i'm still not going to the reunion.
maybe in 10 years. who knows? maybe even less.
