war of the war movies
okay movie review nanaman toh... :)
it was a great raid. excellent strategy and amazing synchronization of events.
it wasnt a great movie, though.
the story, since it is based on true events, was amazing and very heroic.
but the movie... well, it didnt move me as much as black hawk down did.
love stories in war movies just doesnt do it for me.
i mean, the heroism, waiting for the soldier, hoping against hope that you'll see each other again stuff are romantic and all but i didnt watch the movie for some fictitious generic romance.
that's why i like black hawk down. they had a no b.s. approach.
another reason why the great raid wasnt that great a movie was it had no element of suspense. you KNOW they're going to succeed. because, then, the raid wont be so great if they didnt succeed.
in black hawk down, the title doesnt give the story away. it's only this phrase that came to mean something to the soldiers. at first it was all a matter of arresting suspected somalian militia officers but when that plane came crashing down, it was a matter of survival. it was more human and emotional. i didnt really feel this in the great raid.
oh yeah. josh hartnett vs benjamin bratt. josh hartnett.
eric bana vs james franco. eric bana.
orlando bloom vs. joseph fiennes. okay. joseph fiennes ako dito. hehe.

ewan mcgregor vs. cesar montano. kelangan ko pa b sabihin wc one i like better????
one more thing black hawk down has over great raid. a great soundtrack.
watched sa power w my family. as usual. :)
